๐Ÿ”’ Privacy Policy

Plain English, no lawyer fog โ€” this is exactly what Ratevoro does with data.

Last updated: 13 August 2026 ยท Applies to ratevoro.com

The short version: Ratevoro has no user accounts. Reviews are anonymous. We keep a salted one-way fingerprint of your IP for rate limiting โ€” never the address itself alongside your review. We set two small cookies (your country edition and your "helpful" votes), we run no ad trackers or analytics, and we never sell or rent data. That's the whole story; the details follow.

Who we are

Ratevoro ("we", "us") operates ratevoro.com, a public platform for rating professionals and streets worldwide. For anything in this policy, reach us at support@ratevoro.com or via the contact page.

We built Ratevoro deliberately without accounts, passwords, or profiles. The less we know about you, the less anyone can ever take from us โ€” so we collect the minimum needed to keep ratings fair.

What we store, and why

When you write a review

When you add a listing

The listing details you submit (name, category, city, address, description) become part of the public directory, together with the same IP fingerprint used to cap submissions at five listings per day.

When you report a review

We store the reason, your optional note, and the IP fingerprint (so a review can't be mass-reported from one place). Reports are anonymous โ€” the review's author never sees who reported them.

When you claim a profile

Claims are the one place we ask who you are: your name, email, optional phone, and message are stored so our team can verify that you really represent the listing. Claim details are used only for verification, are never displayed publicly, and are never added to any marketing list โ€” we don't have one.

Server logs

Like virtually every website, our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, requested URL, browser user-agent) for a short period, used solely for security and debugging.

Cookies

We set exactly two first-party cookies, both mundane:

CookieWhat it doesLifetime
rv_countryRemembers which country edition you're browsing, so the site stays local to you.1 year
rv_helpfulRemembers which reviews you marked "helpful", so you can't vote twice.1 year

There are no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, and no cross-site tracking of any kind. Delete our cookies any time from your browser โ€” the site keeps working; it just forgets your country choice and helpful votes.

Third parties

One, and it's a font. Our pages load the Sora and Inter typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com), which means your browser requests font files from Google and Google receives your IP address and user-agent as part of that ordinary web request, under Google's privacy policy.

That's the complete list. No ad networks, no analytics suites, no social pixels, no data brokers. If we ever introduce advertising, we will update this policy before it goes live and say plainly what changed.

How country detection works

Ratevoro adapts to your country, not your location. The country edition is chosen in this order: a country you picked yourself (top-bar flag) โ†’ your rv_country cookie โ†’ a country-code header our hosting network attaches to requests โ†’ your browser's language settings โ†’ a worldwide default. We never look up, store, or infer your precise location โ€” city-level or GPS positioning is not part of this site.

How long we keep things

Your rights (GDPR & friends)

Wherever you live, we extend the same rights: you may ask what we hold that relates to you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Because there are no accounts, help us find the content โ€” include the profile URL, the review date and display name shown on it, and what you'd like done. Send it to support@ratevoro.com with the subject "Data removal".

We answer within 30 days. Legitimate requests are honored without drama; we may decline requests aimed at scrubbing honest criticism rather than protecting privacy, and we'll tell you why. EU/EEA residents also have the right to complain to their local data-protection authority.

Children

Ratevoro is not directed at children under 16. We don't have accounts and don't knowingly collect information about anyone, children included, beyond what's described above.

Changes to this policy

When the site's behavior changes, this page changes first, together with the "last updated" date at the top. Substantial changes get a plain-English summary right here.
